Throughout the one and a half hour introductory hands-on course, you will be personally assisted with any questions you may have as Joice shares her tips and lessons learned from her own calligraphy journey.
Please note: This class requires at least four (4) students to run. Class will start at 10 am. Pre-paid booking is required.

About the Instructor
Joice Francine: A free spirited calligrapher who loves art, reading, traveling and Japanese culture.
Having an interest in calligraphy from an early age, she has the opportunity to pursue this interest deeper through multiple teacher. Her calligraphy experience being akin to meditation, she thus found enjoyment and love to share her journey and passion in calligraphy through teaching. Her art passion and interest in Japan culture brought her journey to ikebana ( flower arrangement) and origami.

Calligraphy is the art of beautiful writing. For centuries, it has been written with a quill dipped into ink, and not much has changed. The same tools that were used then to write historical scrolls are now used to create a mix of traditional (Copperplate, Spencerian, Italian Hand, etc ) and chic modern calligraphy.
This class is structured around learning the basic traditional letterforms before tweaking them to create a modern take on calligraphy.
